The RoqStop™
The RoqStop™ locates repetitively placed workpieces for precision machining and production processes.
The RoqStop™ offers:- Fast and precise set-up.
- Easily configures to any vice or work-holding situation.
- Small footprint, large work envelope.
- Solid, dependable clamping.
- To pay for itself within the first few set-ups.*
The RoqStop's unique point of difference is in the design of its articulated arms. These also serve as integrated clamps, resulting in unmatched versatility and rigidity - essential qualities of a good work stop.
Work Envelope
The RoqStop's articulated-arm design allows a single-size workstop to suit large and small work spaces. It is able to reach far and near to its base while still maintaining excellent rigidity.
The base accepts up to M16 or 5/8" mounting bolt or capscrew.
Cutter clearance height can be reduced to zero by mounting a custom stop on provided 20mm accessory mount-shaft.
Two way integrated clamping
Clamps that rely on their resilience to let go of what they are clamping eventually fail to release. The RoqStop's unique two-way clamping action eliminates this annoying trait altogether. When releasing the clamps, simply turn past the neutral point, and the clamp screws positively release the clamp.
Full access to clamp-screws
The RoqStop's clamp-screws are accessable from both sides of the clamp body. This means that no matter what awkward position you may have to set the stop to, a clamp-screw will always present itself in an accessable position.
Low profile for cutter clearance
The RoqStop™ has been designed to eliminate unsightly and delicate clamp parts from the path of machine tool cutters. All clamp-screws are flush with the clamp body.
This means worry free CNC programming while reducing the risk of expensive machine tool crashes.
Modular = Flexibility
The RoqStop's modular elements can be freely rearranged to suit individual setups. If you have more than one RoqStop, your choices expand as all parts are interchangeable.
* Pays its way...
The RoqStop™ takes five minutes to set-up, sometimes less. Other methods can take up to an hour, and in work shops without a dedicated work-stop, it gets worse.
For a typical 3 axis CNC milling machine without a RoqStop, work-stop set-up can range from 20 to 60 minutes. Depending on your machine tool chargeout rate and your existing work-stop methods, a typical payback period can range from 4 to 12 set-ups.

Double-arm versus single-arm work-stops
Much like a ladder against a wall, if you want to set the height of a single arm work-stop, you have to step it in or out at its base. This means that any move in one axis tends to affect the other axis, so you find your set-up is a circular process, wrestling to get the stop pin where you want it.
Compounding this, machine tool table T-slots cannot always accommodate the exact position you may require, or there may be other fixtures in the way. Sometimes, this becomes so difficult you will find you have to re-think your fixture positioning. Knowing this, it's not hard to see how a single-arm stop can cost you a lot of valuable time.
The double-arm design of the RoqStop bypasses all these issues. You can smoothly adjust for height, forward-backwards position and the stop pin position. This is performed in a simple two step, independently clamped process - all without having to move the base. For most set-ups, the axes of the RoqStop line up with the machine-tool axes, so that any adjustment of its elements tends to naturally follow the alignment of the fixtures.
For set-ups where the RoqStop is not required, you can either lower the arms beyond the cutter's reach or remove the arms altogether, leaving the base ready for the next set-up.
